ABIA EYE HEALTH MANAGEMENT BUREAU OFFERS FREE EYE GLASSES AND OTHER EYE CARE SERVICES TO OVER 200 RESIDENTS IN ABA SOUTH .

280 persons in Aba South Local Government have benefitted from a free eye screening and other eye care services outreach organised by the Abia State Eye Health Management Bureau.

Declaring the event open at the Aba South Council hall, the Administrator of the Abia State Eye Health Management Bureau, Dr. Betty Emeka-Obasi, said the initiative was in line with the commitment of Governor Alex Otti’s administration to making quality healthcare accessible to all residents especially the vulnerable and downtrodden.

Dr Emeka-Obasi explained that the outreach is part of ongoing efforts by the Abia State Government to improve access to quality healthcare services and promote eye health across the State.

According to the Bureau Administrator, not every eye condition requires the use of glasses, and noted that some cases require further clinical evaluation and proper diagnosis before prescribing treatment.

While emphasizing the importance of comprehensive eye examinations to ensuring that patients receive appropriate care based on their specific eye conditions assured those requiring medications and reading glasses of the provision at no cost.

Dr Obasi commended the residents for their orderly conduct and participation and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the vision of the present administration through sustained eye health interventions, community outreach programmes, public enlightenment campaigns, and improved access to quality eye care services.
